
I’m not a farmer, so I don’t know everything there is to know about harvesting, but I enjoy experimenting with tips and ideas I’ve read about growing plants.
When I finally figured out how to germinate a pumpkin seed.
I was very excited to try it out on our balcony.
Why not, after all experimenting is a learning process .
The pumpkin plant then begins to grow, the leaves are green and large, and the first blooms to appear are male, remaining on the plant for a day before falling off.

Pumpkin Flowers are edible and taste a little bit sweet so I can use them in cooking or mix them into my salad.
. In southeast Asia, it is use for cooking various delicacies. It can be readily use as condiments and also for flavoring soups. Consumers use it to prepare delicious salads, soups and burgers too.
Health Advantages of eating pumpkin flowers
Vitamin B9 is abundant in pumpkin flowers.
They provide a variety of medical benefits, including increasing human immunity, curing the common cold, strengthening bones, and improving eye eyesight.

Female flowers will bloom in a week or so, and males will continue to bloom.
Is it possible for pumpkins to self-pollinate?
The short answer is no.
Pollination is required by bees or, in some cases, by you. ( manual pollination using a soft brush )
Bees snuggling inside flowers is adorable as you’d think!
Male flowers produce nectar and pollen, whereas female flowers produce more nectar but no pollen.
Bees visit male flowers because the large, sticky pollen granules adhere to them.
They then progress to the heavenly nectar produced by the females, and the transfer is complete. It will take 50 days or more before the pumpkin reach it’s normal growth.

●The female pumpkin flower have a slight bulge at the base of the flower. That bulge will develop into pumpkin later if fertilized and properly cared for.
● Male flowers are borne straight off the vine .

Male blooms will usually be the first to appear.
In fact, the first several weeks’ blossoms will almost certainly be exclusively male flowers.
Female flowers will begin to blossom after the 2nd week of blooms.
Overall, you’ll probably observe more male blooms than female blossoms, and this pattern will continue throughout the plant’s life.
